Tripura militants reject appeal, maintain blockade demanding rehabilitation

Tripura's insurgent factions have publicly refused a recent appeal from authorities to lift the ongoing blockade. The militants said the blockade will stay active until their demands for rehabilitation are fully addressed.
The appeal, issued by the state government, sought to end the disruption that has affected transport and local commerce across several districts.
Officials have warned that the continued obstruction could exacerbate economic hardships for residents, but the militants maintain that their stance is essential to secure promised rehabilitation measures.
No further details on the specific rehabilitation package have been disclosed, and negotiations remain at a stalemate.
