Tripura’s royal heir, Pradyot Manikya, addressed a formal letter to the state Governor demanding prompt consideration of eighteen bills that have been tabled in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). The bills, which cover a range of administrative and developmental matters, are awaiting the Governor’s assent before they can be enacted.
In his appeal, Pradyot highlighted that many of the proposals touch upon land ownership, resource management and local governance – issues that fall under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
