Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha told the Tripura Assembly that 86.5% of households are now supplied with regular drinking water through pipelines.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha addressed the Tripura Legislative Assembly, announcing that 86.50% of families in the state are now receiving regular drinking water through a piped supply network. The statement highlighted the progress of the government's water infrastructure program, which has been rolled out over the past few years.

The administration attributes the increase to the expansion of main pipelines and the installation of new distribution points in both rural and urban areas. Officials noted that the initiative aims to replace reliance on hand‑pumps and tanker deliveries, ensuring a more reliable and hygienic water source for households.

State officials indicated that efforts are ongoing to reach the remaining 13.5% of families, focusing on remote villages where terrain and logistics pose challenges. The government plans to allocate additional funds in the upcoming fiscal year to complete the network and improve water quality monitoring.

The announcement comes as part of broader development goals for Tripura, which include improving basic amenities and public health outcomes across the state.
