Chief Minister Manik Saha said the Tripura government will focus on enhancing livelihood, education and health services for Bru families relocated under the rehabilitation scheme.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced that the Tripura administration is committed to improving the socio‑economic conditions of Bru migrants who have been rehabilitated in the state. The statement was made during a press briefing in Agartala, where the government outlined its intent to address the community's long‑standing challenges after decades of displacement.
The government plans to roll out targeted schemes that include skill‑development programmes, micro‑credit facilities, and upgraded housing for the Bru families. Health and education initiatives will also be expanded, with new primary schools and community health centres earmarked for areas with a high concentration of rehabilitated migrants.
Officials said the measures will be implemented over the next twelve months, with regular monitoring to ensure that the benefits reach the intended beneficiaries. The CM emphasized that inclusive growth remains a priority for Tripura and that the state will continue to work closely with civil society groups to track progress.
The announcement comes as part of broader efforts by the state to integrate displaced communities and promote sustainable development across its rural districts.
