Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the Rangalal Das Memorial Indoor Sports Hall in Kailashahar, Tripura, marking a boost to the region’s sports infrastructure.

Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Rangalal Das Memorial Indoor Sports Hall in the town of Kailashahar on Wednesday. The new facility, built to host a variety of indoor games, aims to provide modern training and competition venues for local athletes.
The hall, named after social worker Rangalal Das, features a multipurpose court, seating for spectators, and ancillary amenities such as changing rooms and a gymnasium. State officials said the project was completed under the state’s sports development scheme and is expected to attract state‑level tournaments.
During the event, CM Saha highlighted the government’s commitment to nurturing talent in remote districts and urged youth to make use of the upgraded infrastructure. The inauguration was attended by local dignitaries, sports officials and community members.
The opening of the indoor sports hall is part of Tripura’s broader effort to improve sports infrastructure ahead of upcoming national games and to encourage greater participation in athletics across the state.
