Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly preparing to depart from Real Madrid, just 18 months after leaving Liverpool's Anfield.
Trent Alexander‑Arnold is reportedly on the verge of leaving Real Madrid, a move that would come just 18 months after his departure from Liverpool’s Anfield. The former Liverpool captain, who joined the Spanish giants in 2025, has seen his time in Madrid cut short by a combination of limited playing opportunities and a change in the club’s tactical plans.
Sources close to the player say that negotiations are underway to facilitate a transfer, with several European clubs reportedly expressing interest. Alexander‑Arnold’s contract, which was set to run until 2028, is being reviewed in light of the club’s evolving squad strategy.
The announcement comes at a time when Real Madrid is looking to refresh its defensive lineup, and the club’s management has indicated a willingness to explore options that benefit both the player and the team’s long‑term objectives.
Alexander‑Arnold’s departure marks a significant shift for the club, as the defender had been a key figure in Liverpool’s midfield and defensive setup before his move to Madrid. His exit will leave a gap that the club will need to address in the upcoming transfer window.
