TMC MP Kirti Azad said his office in Bardhaman was broken into, accusing BJP workers of stealing official papers and stamps.

Bardhaman, West Bengal — On Monday, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament Kirti Azad reported that his constituency office was forcibly entered and its contents ransacked. Azad alleged that individuals linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were responsible for the intrusion and that they removed official documents, including government stamps, from the premises.

According to the MP, the breach was discovered early in the morning when staff found the office doors broken and drawers emptied. He said the missing items are crucial for routine constituency work and that their loss could disrupt service delivery to local residents.

Azad lodged a formal complaint with the Bardhaman police, demanding a swift investigation and the recovery of the stolen material. He also called for a political explanation, urging the state government to intervene and ensure the safety of elected representatives' offices.

The incident has heightened tensions between the TMC and BJP in the region, with both parties accusing each other of fostering a hostile environment ahead of upcoming local elections. Police have not yet released details on any arrests or the progress of the inquiry.
