A Sub‑Inspector in Tikamgarh allegedly used abusive language and threats while inspecting a Durga pandal, prompting a promise of investigation by senior police officials.

Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh – Police officials reported that a Sub‑Inspector entered a Durga pandal being set up for the upcoming festival and allegedly directed profanity and threats at the volunteers overseeing the decoration.

According to local media, the Sub‑Inspector’s conduct was witnessed by several members of the pandal committee, who said the officer used harsh language and intimated possible repercussions if the work was not completed to his satisfaction.

The Senior Deputy Officer of Police (SDOP) responded to the allegations, stating that the matter will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

Durga pandal decorations are a central part of the Navaratri celebrations in Tikamgarh, drawing large crowds each year. The incident has raised concerns about police‑civilian interactions during cultural events, and authorities have urged the public to await the outcome of the pending inquiry.
