Hydrologists say that rising water levels from recent floods in Tibet may swell the Ganges and its tributaries, putting Bihar at heightened flood risk.
Recent heavy rainfall and glacial melt in Tibet have triggered flooding in the high‑altitude catchments that feed major rivers such as the Yarlung Tsangpo, which becomes the Brahmaputra downstream.
