The central government honoured three rural government schools in Karnataka with the National Best School Award for excellence in cleanliness, digital education and environmental sustainability.

The central government announced that three rural government schools in Karnataka have been conferred the National Best School Award, recognising their outstanding performance in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, implementing digital education, and fostering a green environment.

The award, part of the government's initiative to promote quality education and sustainable practices in schools across the country, highlights the schools' successful integration of digital tools in classrooms, regular sanitation drives, and tree‑planting and waste‑management programmes.

Officials said the selected schools exemplify how rural institutions can achieve excellence despite limited resources, and they hope the recognition will encourage other schools to adopt similar practices.

The Ministry of Education will present the awards in a ceremony scheduled later this month, and the winning schools will receive certificates and financial assistance to further enhance their infrastructure and educational programmes.
