Four years after PM Narendra Modi released eight tigers into Kuno National Park, three are confirmed alive, while the rest are unaccounted for.
In 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a tiger reintroduction program by releasing eight tigers into Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park. The initiative aimed to bolster the state’s dwindling tiger population.
A recent assessment by park officials confirms that only three of the original eight are still alive. The remaining six tigers have not been located, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
Two of the released tigers, Hope and Jwala, have played a pivotal role in the park’s breeding program, contributing to a new generation of tigers that are now part of the ecosystem.
Wildlife authorities continue to monitor the park’s tiger population and are working on strategies to locate the missing animals and strengthen conservation efforts.
