From 5 October, three additional judges will regularly hear cases at the Jodhpur principal bench of the Rajasthan High Court, following a decision by Chief Justice Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal after talks with the court’s lawyers’ association.
The Rajasthan High Court announced that three more judges will join the regular roster at its Jodhpur principal bench starting 5 October. The expansion aims to reduce case backlogs and ensure smoother judicial proceedings.
Chief Justice Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal approved the move after consultations with representatives of the Rajasthan High Court Lawyers Association. The association had highlighted the need for additional judicial capacity to handle the growing number of filings.
The newly appointed judges will be assigned to hear a variety of civil and criminal matters, operating alongside the existing bench judges. Court officials said the schedule will be updated on the High Court’s website and at the Jodhpur registry.
Legal practitioners welcomed the decision, noting that increased bench strength should expedite hearings and improve access to justice for litigants in the region.
The High Court reiterated its commitment to maintaining timely justice delivery and will monitor the impact of the additional judges over the coming months.
