Three labourers died and three others were injured after coming into contact with live electric wires while working on a highway project in Mizoram. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a group of labourers was engaged in highway construction work in Mizoram. Three workers suffered fatal electric shocks after touching live wires.

Three other labourers who received injuries were immediately rushed to the nearest medical facility for treatment. Their current condition is reported to be stable.

Local police and the electricity department have launched a joint inquiry to determine the cause of the electrocution and to check whether safety norms were followed at the site.

The tragedy has raised concerns about worker safety on infrastructure projects, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of safety protocols.
