Three people were killed in a gang-related shooting in Delhi's Aya Nagar after a dispute over a plot escalated. The conflict arose from differing support for a candidate in the Delhi University students' union election, a senior Delhi Police crime branch officer said.
Police said that hundreds of bullets were fired during a clash in Aya Nagar, resulting in three deaths.
According to a senior officer of the Delhi Police crime branch, the two main individuals involved, Gogee and Tilloo, had been close friends for years. Their friendship soured after a disagreement over a plot.
The officer added that the dispute over the plot intensified when the friends differed in their support for a candidate in the Delhi University students' union election. This disagreement turned into a violent confrontation.
Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the incident. No further details about arrests or suspects have been disclosed yet.
