A ventilator malfunction caused an explosion that ignited a large fire at a hospital in Maharashtra, killing three babies.

A ventilator in a Maharashtra hospital suddenly exploded, setting off a massive blaze that quickly engulfed parts of the facility. The fire broke out in the neonatal intensive care unit, where several infants were being treated. Emergency services were rushed to the scene and the fire was brought under control after several hours of intense effort.
The incident resulted in the tragic loss of three babies. Hospital staff attempted to evacuate all patients, but the rapid spread of flames hampered rescue operations in the critical care area. Injured patients and staff were transferred to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the ventilator failure and to assess compliance with safety protocols. The health department has ordered a thorough safety audit of equipment across hospitals in the state to prevent similar disasters in the future.
