Three young men drowned while walking into deep water during a Ganesh idol immersion at a pond on Dholchi Road, Madhya Pradesh.
Three friends went to a pond on Dholchi Road to take part in the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony, according to reports from Amar Ujala. While the immersion was in progress, the three young men stepped into a deeper part of the water and were unable to surface.
Eyewitnesses said the group was with other friends who watched as the three slipped under. Immediate rescue attempts by nearby by‑standers and local volunteers were made, but the victims could not be revived.
