Police in Jalandhar arrested three individuals suspected of drug smuggling, seizing 1kg of opium, 5,000 pregas, 3,000 narcotic pills and 22,000 rupees in drug proceeds.
Police officers in Jalandhar arrested three men on Thursday, alleging their involvement in a drug smuggling ring.
The operation, carried out by the local Narcotics Control Bureau, resulted in the seizure of 1 kilogram of opium, 5,000 pregas, 3,000 narcotic pills and 22,000 rupees in drug proceeds.
The suspects were apprehended at a residential area in the city after a raid on a warehouse believed to be a distribution hub.
Jalandhar Police Commissioner said the bust is part of a larger crackdown on drug trafficking in Punjab.
The seized drugs will be processed by the state’s forensic laboratory before being handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation.
