Three victims of the recent Nepal floods were found dead in Uttar Pradesh after being swept about 200 km downstream, officials said.

The authorities in Uttar Pradesh have recovered three bodies that are believed to have been carried downstream by the floods that hit Nepal earlier this week. According to local officials, the remains were discovered about 200 kilometres downstream from the flood-affected zones in Nepal, indicating the cross‑border impact of the disaster.

Police and disaster‑relief teams were alerted after reports of missing persons from the Nepalese flood zones. A coordinated search along the riverbanks in Uttar Pradesh led to the recovery of the three bodies, which are now being handed over to the respective families for identification.

The incident underscores the trans‑national nature of the flooding, prompting both Indian and Nepali agencies to strengthen monitoring of river flows and coordinate rescue operations. Officials have urged residents in flood‑prone areas to stay vigilant and follow safety advisories.

No further casualties have been reported in Uttar Pradesh so far, and the investigation into the exact circumstances of the victims' deaths continues.
