On October 7, three young men from Papraur village in Begusarai district, Bihar, were caught in rough surf while attempting to shoot a short video reel on Puri beach in Odisha. The strong currents pulled them into the sea, and they were unable to reach safety.
The trio had traveled to Odisha seeking daily‑wage work and decided to record a reel during a break. Local fishermen and beach‑side volunteers rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion, but only one body could be retrieved and handed over to the authorities.
Police officials confirmed that the recovered body has been taken to the village for last rites, while search teams continue to look for the remaining two youths, who are still unaccounted for. Families in Papraur have been notified and are awaiting further updates.
