Thousands Rally in Imphal Demanding Peace, IDP Resettlement and SoO Abrogation

On Tuesday, thousands gathered in Imphal to demand peace, the resettlement of internally displaced persons, and the abrogation of the State of Origin policy. The rally, organized by local civil society groups, drew participants from across the state, including students, traders and community leaders. Protesters carried banners calling for an immediate cease‑fire in the conflict‑torn hills and for the government to provide housing and livelihood support to displaced families. Local officials acknowledged the concerns but said that security and administrative measures were still being reviewed.
