Third‑gender voter registration in Karnataka drops 43%

The Karnataka State Election Commission has released data showing a sharp 43% reduction in the count of third‑gender voters on the state's electoral roll. The latest revision, published this week, indicates that the number of registered voters identifying as third gender is significantly lower than in the previous roll update. No detailed breakdown of the figures was provided, but the percentage drop highlights a notable change in the demographic composition of the electorate. Officials said the data will be used to ensure that all eligible voters are correctly listed ahead of upcoming elections. The commission has urged third‑gender individuals to verify their registration status and approach local offices for corrections if needed.
