In a daring robbery on Sunday morning, criminals used a drill to breach an India One ATM at Chaklalshahi Chowk in Samastipur district, Bihar, and withdrew ₹18,22,500 before disabling the server and escaping.
On Sunday morning, a group of thieves targeted an India One ATM located at Chaklalshahi Chowk in the Halai police station area of Samastipur district, Bihar. Using a drill, they damaged the bolt securing the cash box and extracted the money.
The robbers managed to withdraw a total of ₹18,22,500 before disabling the ATM’s server to prevent immediate detection. After the theft, they fled the scene.
Local police were alerted shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. The ATM’s security footage is under review as part of the probe.
The incident has raised concerns about the security of unattended ATMs in the region, prompting authorities to consider additional safeguards for such machines.
