Senior political figure Thakur has publicly cautioned the Himachal Pradesh government headed by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu against pursuing the creation of new districts.
Thakur contended that establishing additional districts at this juncture could be viewed as a move driven by electoral considerations rather than genuine administrative need, potentially diverting resources from essential development work.
The warning emerges as the state debates administrative reorganisation, with officials reportedly assessing the feasibility of new districts to enhance governance.
Thakur urged the Sukhu administration to prioritize delivery of public services and infrastructure over changes that might be perceived as political patronage.
As of now, the Sukhu government has not issued an official response.
