TGSRTC Introduces Electric AC Bus Service Between Pragati Nagar and Waverock

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has begun operating a new electric, air‑conditioned bus that runs between Pragati Nagar in the northern part of Hyderabad and the Waverock area in the south‑west. The service is part of the corporation’s effort to modernise its fleet and provide a greener commuting option for city residents.

The electric buses used on the route are zero‑emission vehicles equipped with climate control, offering a comfortable ride while reducing the carbon footprint of public transport. Passengers can expect a schedule that matches peak commuting hours, with fares comparable to existing city bus services.

Transport officials highlighted that the launch aligns with the Telangana government’s broader green mobility agenda, which aims to increase the share of electric vehicles on roads and improve air quality. Authorities indicated that similar electric routes may be introduced on other corridors if the pilot proves successful.
