The Karnataka weather department reported a rise of up to 2°C above normal in coastal and Malenadu districts, with dry heat persisting.

The Karnataka Meteorological Department said that during the middle of October, maximum temperatures in the coastal districts of Mangalore and Udupi, as well as in Shivamogga of the Malenadu region, rose by about two degrees Celsius above the usual forecast.

The increase was recorded across the three districts, indicating a notable deviation from expected seasonal norms.

Officials noted that the heightened temperatures are accompanied by continued dry conditions, raising concerns about water availability and agricultural impact in the affected areas.

The department advised residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and monitor local advisories for any further weather updates.
