The state government has instructed all district collectors to resolve pending GO‑59 applications for plots up to 500 sq yds within 30 days.
Hyderabad, Oct 9 — The Telangana government has issued a formal directive to every district collector, asking them to clear the backlog of GO‑59 applications for residential plots not exceeding 500 square yards within a month.
The GO‑59 scheme, which facilitates allocation of small land parcels to eligible applicants, has seen a large number of pending requests across the state. Officials say the delay has caused frustration among prospective beneficiaries awaiting allotment.
Collectors have been given a 30‑day window to process and approve these applications, after which the state will review compliance and may consider further administrative action. The deadline is intended to accelerate land distribution and address the housing needs of low‑income families.
State authorities have emphasized that the move is part of a broader effort to streamline land‑allocation procedures and improve transparency in the implementation of government schemes.
