The Telangana government has established the SAFE (State Authority for Food and Drug Enforcement) body to oversee drug regulation and food safety across the state.

The Telangana government has constituted the State Authority for Food and Drug Enforcement (SAFE) to strengthen oversight of drug control and food safety.
SAFE will be responsible for monitoring the quality of medicines, preventing the circulation of counterfeit drugs, and ensuring that food products meet safety standards.
The agency will be headed by a Director‑General and will include a network of inspectors, laboratory technicians and compliance officers spread across the state.
Officials say the new body will help reduce the prevalence of sub‑standard drugs and improve public confidence in the safety of food and pharmaceutical supplies.
