Telangana CM KCR mocks KT Rama Rao, says beard won’t make him Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao launched a pointed criticism at fellow politician KT Rama Rao, using a remark about facial hair. Rao said that merely growing a beard does not transform Rama Rao into opposition leader Revanth Reddy, implying that appearance alone cannot confer political identity.

The comment was made in a public setting, where Rao sought to highlight differences between the two leaders. By invoking Revanth Reddy’s name, Rao underscored his view that personal grooming choices are irrelevant to political credibility.

Political analysts noted that the exchange reflects ongoing tensions within the state’s political landscape, with the chief minister using sharp language to challenge rivals.

Rama Rao has not yet responded publicly to the chief minister’s remarks, and the episode adds another layer to the competitive dynamics ahead of upcoming electoral contests.

The incident was reported by the Hindustan Times, which captured Rao’s exact wording: “Growing a beard doesn’t make you Revanth Reddy.”
