Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao claimed the central government is deleting votes that oppose the BJP, citing the SIR mechanism as the pretext.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao publicly accused the Union government of removing votes that are unfavourable to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rao said the deletions are being carried out under the pretext of the SIR (Special Investigation Regime) framework, which he described as a tool to manipulate electoral outcomes.

The CM made the allegation during a press interaction in Hyderabad, asserting that the practice undermines the democratic process and disenfranchises voters who oppose the BJP. He called for a parliamentary inquiry and urged the Election Commission to intervene.

No official response from the Centre or the Election Commission has been recorded at the time of reporting. The claim adds to the growing political tension between the state government and the central administration ahead of upcoming electoral contests.

Analysts note that if substantiated, such allegations could trigger legal challenges and intensify scrutiny of the SIR mechanism's application across states.

The situation remains under observation as opposition parties await further developments.
