The Telangana excise department has approved 121 new premium liquor brands, expanding the state's premium beverage portfolio.

The Telangana State Excise Department announced that 121 new premium liquor brands have been cleared for sale across the state. The addition is part of a broader effort to diversify the premium segment and cater to evolving consumer preferences. Retail outlets and licensed liquor shops will begin stocking the new brands within the next few weeks, subject to standard compliance checks.

Industry analysts view the move as a signal of confidence in the state's purchasing power and a response to growing demand for higher‑end spirits. The excise department said the brands were vetted for quality, pricing and adherence to state regulations before approval.

The expansion is expected to boost revenue for both the department and licensed retailers, while offering consumers a wider choice of premium options ranging from whiskies and vodkas to premium Indian-made foreign liquor.
