Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav announced a sweeping claim to win the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council elections, rejected the idea of contesting with Congress, and launched a sharp criticism of the Modi administration and central investigative agencies.
Bihar opposition figure Tejashwi Yadav addressed the media on Thursday, declaring that his party will secure a decisive victory in the forthcoming Legislative Council (MLC) elections. He emphasized that the contest will be fought independently of the Congress, signalling a strategic break from the national party for the state polls.
During the same briefing, Yadav launched a pointed attack on the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He accused the administration of using federal agencies to stifle dissent and warned that remaining within the BJP would reduce a leader to a mythic figure of blind honesty, likening it to the legendary Harishchandra.
Yadav's statements come ahead of the scheduled MLC elections, where the Rashtriya Janata Dal seeks to expand its influence in the upper house of the state legislature. The opposition leader's remarks are expected to shape campaign narratives and could intensify political rivalry in Bihar.
