RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav accused the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of bias, claiming a recent FIR is intended to aid the BJP.
In a session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Sunday, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the opposition leader and national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, launched a forceful criticism of the Election Commission and its chief, Gyanesh Kumar. He framed the remarks as a defence of democratic fairness ahead of upcoming elections.
Yadav alleged that the filing of a criminal case (SIR) against certain political actors is a calculated move to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party. He suggested that the commission’s actions are being used as a tool to tilt the electoral playing field.
The remarks also targeted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, whom he referred to as “CM Samrat,” accusing the state administration of colluding with the commission. No immediate response was recorded from the Election Commission or the chief minister’s office, and the issue is expected to feature in the political discourse in the days ahead.
