Police say the death of 45-year-old Badar Singh Munia, found hanging on Aug 21, was a staged suicide. A minor son and seven friends have been named as suspects in the murder.
On August 21, officers of the Kusalgarh police station in Banswara district discovered the body of 45-year-old Badar Singh Munia hanging from a rope inside his home in the village of Chulipara. Initial reports suggested suicide, but the investigation quickly took a different turn.
Detectives found forensic evidence indicating that the hanging was staged to conceal a homicide. Interrogations revealed that Munia's minor son, along with seven of his friends, were involved in planning and executing the killing.
The police have now filed charges against the boy and the seven accomplices, alleging murder and conspiracy to mislead investigators. All eight suspects have been taken into custody for further questioning and will appear before the local court.
Authorities emphasized that the case underscores the need for thorough crime-scene analysis, especially when apparent suicides occur in rural settings. The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to gather additional evidence.
