A software engineer from Andhra Pradesh died by hanging in a Mumbai paid guest room. His family transported the body to his boyfriend’s village for posthumous rites.

A 28‑year‑old software engineer from Andhra Pradesh was found dead by hanging in a paid‑guest (PG) room in Mumbai on Tuesday. Police confirmed the cause of death as suicide after a preliminary investigation. The victim’s family, who had been staying in the same PG unit, immediately contacted authorities and arranged for the body to be transported to his boyfriend’s village in Andhra Pradesh for burial. The Mumbai Police have opened a case file and are awaiting further instructions from the family regarding posthumous arrangements. No foul play has been suspected, and the incident is being treated as a tragic suicide.
