After 18 days of sit‑in outside the D.P.I. office demanding promotion for Class‑2 and Class‑3 teachers, the protest ended on Thursday when Patwari Jitu Patwari offered protestors coconut water.
The sit‑in outside the District Panchayat Institute (D.P.I.) office in Madhya Pradesh began on March 27 and lasted 18 days, with teachers demanding promotion for Class‑2 and Class‑3 positions. The protestors remained in the open, chanting slogans and holding placards. On Thursday, the demonstrators were persuaded to disperse when Patwari Jitu Patwari offered them coconut water and urged them to survive before fighting for their demands. The offer was seen as a symbolic gesture that helped calm tensions. Authorities have not yet announced any new policy changes regarding the teachers’ promotion request.
