Teacher Arrested in Madhya Pradesh for Bike Theft Tied to Online Gaming Losses

A school teacher in Madhya Pradesh was taken into custody after investigators traced a series of motorcycle thefts to him. The suspect had previously pawned his own bike to fund an online gaming habit that cost him roughly eight lakh rupees. When the pledged bike was seized, he allegedly stole another motorcycle in an attempt to retrieve it.

CCTV recordings from a local market captured the teacher riding the stolen bike and later abandoning it near a temple. Police reviewed the footage, identified the individual, and arrested him at his residence later that day.

Authorities said the case underscores a growing concern over gambling and gaming addictions that push some individuals toward criminal activity. The Madhya Pradesh police have warned that similar offenses will be pursued aggressively, and the suspect now faces charges of theft, criminal conspiracy and fraud.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the seized motorcycles have been handed over to their rightful owners pending legal proceedings.
