Tea Workers Protest at Biswanath MLA’s Home Over Market Tender Issues

On Tuesday, tea workers from the region assembled outside the home of Biswanath MLA to protest the stalled tender for a 40‑year‑old market that serves local tea estates. The workers say the market’s deteriorating condition has hurt their livelihoods and that the tender process has been delayed. They approached the MLA’s office, demanding a meeting and swift resolution. The MLA’s spokesperson confirmed that the matter is under review and that a committee will examine the tender process. The protest highlights growing frustration among tea workers over infrastructure and administrative delays.
