Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Randhir Thakur said Tata Electronics' new semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, and its packaging plant in Assam are progressing as scheduled.

Randhir Thakur, the chief executive officer and managing director of Tata Electronics, confirmed that the company’s flagship semiconductor fabrication unit at Dholera in Gujarat remains on schedule. The plant, earmarked to boost India’s chip manufacturing capacity, is expected to commence pilot production later this year. Thakur also highlighted that the packaging facility being set up in Assam is advancing without delays, aligning with the group’s broader goal of creating a domestic end‑to‑end electronics ecosystem. Both projects are part of Tata’s multi‑billion‑rupee investment plan aimed at reducing reliance on imports and supporting the Make in India agenda. The company expects the facilities to generate significant employment and spur ancillary industries in their respective regions.
