Tamil Nadu authorities have announced the closure of schools in three districts following a period of heavy rainfall, according to the latest Chennai weather update released by Asianet Newsable.
The decision, taken by the state education department, aims to safeguard students and staff from the risks posed by flooding and waterlogged roads. Schools will remain closed until the weather improves and safety checks are completed.
Parents have been advised to keep their children at home and to monitor official channels for further updates. The closures are part of a broader effort to manage the impact of the monsoon season across the state.
