The Tamil Nadu government has rolled out 41 dedicated buses to facilitate student commute across the state.
The new fleet will operate on key routes connecting schools and colleges, with each bus designed to accommodate up to 60 passengers and equipped with safety features such as seat belts and CCTV cameras.
The initiative is part of the state’s broader effort to reduce traffic congestion and improve punctuality for students, with the project funded through a combination of state transport budget and central grants.
Education Minister V. Senthilnathan said the buses will help students reach their institutions safely and on time, especially in rural and peri‑urban areas.
