The Tamil Nadu government has identified three possible locations to shift the state secretariat, a move that has drawn criticism from the opposition AIADMK.
The state administration announced that three sites have been shortlisted for moving the Tamil Nadu secretariat, signalling a major shift in the location of the state's core administrative offices. Officials said the identified locations are being examined for suitability and logistical feasibility.
The opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) immediately condemned the proposal, labeling the relocation plan as unwarranted and questioning its timing. Party leaders demanded a detailed justification before any further steps are taken.
The government has indicated that the shortlist will be reviewed in consultation with relevant stakeholders, and a final decision will be taken after thorough assessment.
