Tamil Nadu Governor Arlekar, in his inaugural address to the State Assembly, pledged a firm stance against illegal mining and tax evasion. This address follows the recent assumption of office by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led coalition government under Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

Governor R.N. Ravi, addressing the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly for the first time since the new government took charge, declared a resolute approach to combat illicit activities. He stated that the government would deal with illegal mining and tax evasion with an "iron hand."

The Governor's address came as he spoke before the newly formed government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, representing the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led coalition. This marks a significant policy statement from the Raj Bhavan concerning critical economic and regulatory issues within the state.

This commitment signals the administration's intent to enforce laws rigorously and ensure compliance, aiming to curb revenue leakage and protect natural resources.
