The Tamil Nadu administration has declared October 6 as a public holiday in Madurantakam and Dharapuram districts to facilitate voting in the upcoming by-elections.
The Tamil Nadu government has announced that October 6 will be observed as a public holiday in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram districts. This decision is linked to the conduct of by-elections scheduled for the same date.
The declaration aims to ensure that government offices and public institutions remain closed, allowing administrative support for the electoral process and enabling voters to participate without work-related conflicts.
This move is part of the standard protocol for election days in the state, where specific districts are granted holidays to maintain order and facilitate the smooth functioning of polling stations.
Voters in these two districts are advised to check their voter IDs and report to their respective polling stations on the designated day.
