A 65‑year‑old patient in Indore survived an eight‑hour operation that extracted a 2.5‑kg kidney tumor extending to a lung vessel, despite a 20‑minute halt in blood flow and a sharp drop in body temperature.

Indore doctors successfully completed a complex eight‑hour operation to remove a massive cancerous growth from the kidney of a 65‑year‑old man. The tumor, weighing approximately two and a half kilograms, had infiltrated a major lung vessel, making the procedure exceptionally challenging.

During the surgery, the patient's core temperature fell by 18 degrees Celsius, and surgeons had to halt blood circulation for about 20 minutes to control bleeding and access the tumor. Despite these critical moments, the surgical team managed to excise the entire mass without complications.

Post‑operative reports indicate that the patient is stable and recovering under intensive care monitoring. The successful outcome highlights the advanced capabilities of Indore's medical facilities in handling high‑risk oncological surgeries.

The case underscores the importance of early detection and specialized surgical expertise in managing large kidney cancers that spread to adjacent organs.
