Supreme Court Collegium, led by CJI, Approves Early Transfer Policy for High Court Chief Justices

The Supreme Court collegium, chaired by the Chief Justice of India, has formally approved a policy that permits the early transfer of chief justices of high courts across the country. The decision was taken after a series of internal deliberations among senior judges.

The policy is designed to strengthen administrative efficiency and uphold the independence of the judiciary by allowing transfers before the usual tenure concludes.
