Sub-Engineer Caught Red-Handed Taking Rs 40,000 Bribe in Panagar

The Lokayukta police have apprehended a sub-engineer in Panagar Nagar Palika for accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000. The engineer was demanding a total of Rs 50,000 to clear contractor payments.
In a significant anti-corruption operation, the Lokayukta police in Jabalpur have arrested a sub-engineer posted at the Panagar Nagar Palika. The official, identified as Shubham Jain, was apprehended while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by a contractor. The sub-engineer had allegedly demanded a total of Rs 50,000 from the contractor. The bribe was reportedly demanded in exchange for the release of the remaining payment for an FD and other bills related to the contractor's work.
The Lokayukta team caught the engineer red-handed during the transaction, leading to his immediate arrest and the recovery of the bribe money. Further investigations into the matter are underway.
