A stray dog attacked an 18‑month‑old baby in Delhi, causing facial injuries and leading to the child's admission to the intensive care unit, with the incident captured on CCTV.

A stray dog entered a residential area of Delhi and attacked an 18‑month‑old infant, inflicting cuts on the child's face. Bystanders quickly pulled the animal away and called emergency services. The baby was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors assessed the injuries and admitted the child to the intensive care unit for close monitoring and treatment.

Medical staff reported that the wounds, though not life‑threatening, required stitches and observation for possible infection. The infant remains under intensive care observation, with doctors optimistic about a full recovery.

Surveillance cameras installed in the neighbourhood captured the entire episode, showing the dog lunging at the child before being restrained. The footage has been handed over to local police for further investigation into the stray animal's behavior and possible negligence in animal control.

Delhi authorities have reiterated the need for stricter stray‑dog management and public awareness to prevent similar incidents. They have urged residents to report aggressive animals promptly and are reviewing existing measures to ensure safer streets for children and other vulnerable groups.
