A stone hurled at a Vande Bharat Express in Gujarat on Diwali broke a window, prompting police investigation.
On Diwali, a Vande Bharat Express travelling through Gujarat was struck by a stone that shattered one of its windows. The projectile hit the carriage while the train was in motion, causing glass fragments to fall inside the coach.
Despite the damage, the train continued its scheduled run and no injuries were reported among passengers or crew. Railway staff quickly secured the affected area and arranged for cleaning before the next service.
Gujarat police have opened a case of vandalism and are reviewing CCTV footage from stations along the route to identify the perpetrator. Officials said they are increasing security patrols on premium trains following a series of similar incidents in recent weeks.
Railway authorities reiterated that passenger safety remains a priority and urged the public to report any suspicious activity observed on platforms or aboard trains.
