State Launches Organic Vegetable Gardens in Over 1,000 Schools to Foster Environmental Awareness
In a bid to nurture eco‑consciousness among students, the state has partnered with the Agriculture Department to establish small‑scale organic vegetable gardens in more than 1,000 government schools.
Statewide, a new initiative has seen the construction of small‑scale organic vegetable gardens in over 1,000 government schools across the state. The project, carried out in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, aims to embed environmental care into the school curriculum.
The gardens are designed to be manageable within school premises, providing students with a practical, hands‑on experience in cultivating organic produce.
By engaging children in the cultivation process, the programme seeks to raise environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices from a young age.
The partnership between the state education authorities and the Agriculture Department underscores a commitment to integrating ecological stewardship into everyday learning.
