A crowd surge following the traditional Ravana burning ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Masaurhi, Bihar, left four women injured and an ambulance blocked.

During the annual Ravana Dahan ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Masaurhi, Patna district, a sudden surge of people caused a stampede. The panic erupted shortly after the effigy of Ravana was set ablaze, creating a bottleneck near the exit routes.

Four women were reported to have sustained injuries ranging from bruises to minor fractures. An ambulance that arrived to transport the victims became stuck in the crowd, further complicating the emergency response.

Local youths quickly intervened, helping the injured women onto stretchers and escorting them to the nearest hospital. Their prompt action is credited with preventing the situation from worsening.

Police and municipal officials later arrived, dispersing the remaining crowd and securing the area. They noted that if the gathering had not been contained promptly, the incident could have resulted in more severe casualties.
